SECTION 1: Magic Fundamentals

FIRE ELEMENT

Fire Bolt

Fire Bolt, while being extremely useful for leveling, is not a particularly useful skill outside of that. When used in conjunction with an Imp Card, it can be useful as a cast interruption or to dispatch of Undead Element Foes.

Fire Ball

I have never used this skill, even while leveling. I suppose it could be annoying to a distant precast, a well-aimed AoE spell would do a better job.

Fire Wall
Once again, it’s a skill that has it’s uses for PVM. WoE’s knockback immunity renders this skill useless.

Fire Pillar
Fire Pillar can be somewhat useful if you have enough time to put up a blockade. Although frowned-upon for the most part, it’s ability to stun-lock in place for a short duration of time can assist a Wizard while fleeing, or in conjunction with another player to exploit their moment of vulnerability.

Meteor Storm

Meteor Storm, the AoE that Stuns, Stacks, and does a decent amount of damage. Although the cast time for it is rather long, when used in conjunction with a Bard Class as well as large amounts of Dex can create a massive volley of fire damage. Meteor Storm has slight stun-lock capabilities with a chance to inflict the “Stun” Status Ailment. Amazing in a precast, or any other narrow area.

Sight Blaster

Sight Blaster is an amazing skill. When cast it circles a character much like sight. However, when any character (cloaked or uncloaked) enters it’s radius, they will be simultaneously revealed, pushed back, and inflicted with a low amount of fire-based damage. This ability can be followed-up with a debilitating spell to keep most Melee characters at bay. This buff should be kept up as much as possible, especially when Assassin Cross and Champions are present.

WATER ELEMENT

Cold Bolt

Cold Bolt, the not-quite-as-good-as-Firebolt. When paired with Siroma Cards, it can be useful for leveling. However, outside of that, it’s only real use is to interrupt people casting skills. Nothing really remarkable.

Frost Driver

Think of this as your rapid-fire skill. It’s irritatingly quick to cast, useful for interrupting cast times, as well as it’s relatively high freeze chance makes it a threat to the ill-prepared. Useful for when you can’t cast Storm Gust.

Water Ball

If there were more puddles of water laying around, or a Deluge Scholar/Water Escape Ninja to follow me around, maybe I’d give this skill a shot. Truth it, it’s a pain in the ass to use. It’s unfortunate, but true.

Frost Nova

Frost Nova is a skill I’d like to like, however, it isn’t useful. If you encounter a lot of melee units without freeze protection, you can use it to freeze the people attempting to break through your safety wall. Unfortunately, Storm Gust does a very good job of that.

Ice Wall

Ice Wall has it’s uses in PVM, which are quite obvious. Using it to block a passage, and cast spells over the other side of it to hit monsters that can’t hit you back, or just hiding from sight of a nearby MVP while your guild prepares to attack.

Storm Gust

Storm Gust is probably my favorite Wizard skill. Besides the damage and AOE properties of the spell, Storm Gust is guaranteed to freeze anything freezable after it’s third hit. Want to know if that person is wearing a Marc/Evil Druid? This is a great way to get your answer. At lower levels, Storm Gust still retains this property, while having a reduced cast time.

WIND ELEMENT

Lightning Bolt

There is no Accessory Card to improve this skill, and Jupital Thunder is better. Not commonly used.

Thunderstorm

Much like Fire Ball, I don’t find myself using this move. Ever.

Jupital Thunder

Jupital Thunder is a great move. It is Lightning Bolt with increased number of hits, added knockback, with a decent amount of stun-lock. It’s a good spell to use against single-target enemies.

Lord of Vermillion

The annoying AoE. Though not particularly powerful, it has the ability to stun-lock enemies to a noteworthy degree. It can have it’s uses, but generally is outshined by Storm Gust and Meteor Storm.

EARTH ELEMENT

Stone Curse

Stone Curse is your alternate to Frost Driver. Though this, too, is ineffective against undead foes, it can be used against players using Marc cards in it’s place.

Earth Spike

Earth Spike’s delay makes it an interesting tool against hide-dodgers. Though by no means a damaging spell, it is a must-have for any PVP combat situation.

Heaven’s Drive

It’s quick cast and ability to uncloak makes it very useful in battle scenarios. Once again, a must-have for combat!

Quagmire

Quagmire is a great spell, though it must be used with care. It cancels Attack Speed and Agility related buffs, as well as reducing Attack Speed, DEX, AGI, Walk Speed, and increases Cast Time for anyone standing in it. However, that literally means ANYONE, including you and your ally. Watch your placement!

GHOST ELEMENT

Napalm Beat

I don’t see any particular use for this, but it’s a multi-hit ghost element spell that does splash damage around the target. I mean… it interrupts, but it’s not too special.

Soul Strike

This could be thought of as “Ghost Bolt”. Though it’s not too useful, it has the uncanny ability to hit Evil Druid users really hard and really fast. It’s a fun, irritating spell.

Napalm Vulcan

Napalm Vulcan, while not being a particularly damaging spell, has the ability to “Curse” it’s target. This status can help make an extremely quick getaway, and is generally unpleasant to be affected by it.

DEFENSIVE/UTILITY SPELLS

Safety Wall

The best spell you’ve got, hands-down. Prevents 10 physical attacks on whatever is standing in it. Asura Strikes, Sonic Blows, Sacrifice, and Bowling Bashes are all rendered useless. Any time you cast an AoE spell, you better be standing in one of these babies.

Mystic Amplification

This buff will power-up for MAtk by 50% until you cast your next spell. However, that means ANY spell, even skills not meant to deal damage.

Energy Coat

Energy Coat is an amazing defensive buff. Being able to reduce damage in the place of SP is a unique trait that should be exploited in this class. Doesn’t matter how you’re playing, use the buff!

Monster Property

Though you can use it if you WANT, I’d just go to IROwiki or RateMyServer.Net.

Sight

Useful to keep up to uncloak enemies. Though not as useful as Sight Blaster, it doesn’t hurt to keep this buff up!

Magic Crasher

This is a really fun and unique spell. It converts your Matk to a single physical hit. Since the damage is physical, any weapon effects (including cards) are a potential effect of your spell. Because of it’s spamability, it’s the best skill for interrupting another person’s casting.

Gravitation

I’ve been reading on this skill, and though I don’t know if it truly has a
practical use, there seem to be a couple accounts of this skill having
some use. It doesn’t seem particularly useful to me at all.

Ganbantien

Ganbantien is a useful spell that can be used to clear the ground of hazards. This is used to punch holes in any AoE/Trap skills, though most commonly it’s used to cut holes in a Scholar’s Land Protector.

Passive Skills

Increase SP Recovery

When you’re training, obviously this can help you level a little faster. Outside of that, I don’t recommend this skill except for being a prerequisite.

Soul Drain

This skill works as a way of recharging your mana as you go, though AoE skills will not activate Soul Drain. Some people may prefer to put their skill points elsewhere, but the Max SP bonus obtained through this passive buff is really nice to have, though maybe not completely necessary. Distribute skill points with discretion.

Through knowing properties (and a little help from some friends) it’s possible to hit 200,400 or more damage. That’s just with a Cold Bolt!

Knowing how to inflict certain status ailments can make fighting much easier for any High Wizard. However, you may not always be able to freeze or stone curse an enemy. When this happens, it’s best to resort to a “Plan B”.

Quagmire is an excellent spell to use. It’s ability to slow down enemies can open a decent window of opportunity to lay a Safety Wall down. Since it cancels a Whitesmith’s “Cart Boost” you can also use this skill to temporarily incapacitate them. You should always be careful not to cast it over yourself unless completely necessary, as it will result in a slower walk speed and cast time.

Using Napalm Vulcan’s cursing ability can help you to cover some ground if you’re under attack. Once again, linking it up to Safety Wall or Quagmire is always a safe bet.

A commonly overlooked strategy lies in the spell “Magic Crasher”. As I had stated in it’s description, it has the ability to carry weapon properties into itself. This creates the potential to status opponents with a Knife [4] enchanted with the card of your choice. Multiple daggers can be carried to exploit any weakness.

Status Cards

Savage Babe Card – Inflicts [Stun] Status at 5% per card. [Useful]

Stun is great, since it incapacitates the enemy completely. No items, no moving, and no attacking make for a very easy battle.

Metaller Card – Inflicts [Silence] Status at 5% per card. [Useful]

If an opponant isn’t expecting it, hitting them with silence can wreck a bit of havok. Be wary of opponents using Green Potions or Royal Jelly!

Plankton Card – Inflicts [Sleep] Status at 5% per card. [So-So]

Sleep is a step down from stun. While it still has the same effect, the duration is ended upon receiving another hit. Use it if you don’t have Savage Babe Cards.

Magnolia Card – Inflicts [Curse] Status at 5% per card. [So-So]

Curse is fun for it’s ability to annoy, and to make a quick getaway. Tied in with Magic Crasher’s almost non-existent cast time, and it’s crazily short after-cast delay, it can be used to curse more efficiently than Napalm Vulcan.

Marina Card – Inflicts [Freeze] Status at 5% per card. [Not Useful]

I don’t see the purpose of using this when you have Frost Driver and Storm Gust.

Breeze Card – Inflicts [Bleeding] Status at 5% per card. [Not Useful]

Bleeding is just a poison that can kill you. Doesn’t incapacitate, doesn’t help.

Familiar Card – Inflicts [Blind] Status at 5% per card. [Not Useful]

Some players have removed the “blind” fading, thus making this effect useless.

Snake Card – Inflicts [Poison] Status at 5% per card. [Not Useful]

While it throws in some extra damage, the amount it does is so insignificant that you might get laughed at.

Requiem Card – Inflicts [Chaos] Status at 5% per card. [Unsure]

I’ve never tested the effects of Chaos cards. Though, it should be noted I’ve never SEEN them used, I can only guess it’s not particularly useful.

III. Strategies and Tips

Now that you’ve got an idea of how to increase damage, and the various uses of the spells at your disposal, we can begin discussing ways to integrate them into your play. Before you jump into combat, these are a few pointers to help you start strong.

• Guard yourself! Make sure to keep Energy Coat, Sight, and Sight Blaster up constantly. As soon as you stop moving, or if you know your destination, instantly drop a Safety Wall. With your low HP modifier, it is most certainly better safe than sorry.

• As soon as you set foot in a Safety Wall, cast Amplify Magic Power. You should be prepared to attack immediately. Covering yourself with yourself with level 1 Storm Gust can keep distance between you and opponents.

• When encountering the enemy, it is best to hit them with a Quagmire ASAP. Quagmire has no cast time and is a strong debuff. This can give you extra time to react, or flee if need be.

• Use low level, or fast-casting spells to interrupt enemy spell-casters. This can help make crucial openings in WoE and Battlegrounds.
• If an enemy is hide-dodging your spells, hit them with Earth Spike. Earth Spike will knock them out of hiding and do a small amount of damage.

• Do not forget to use Ganbantien to clear hazards such as Land Protector and Sniper Traps. Taking Land Protector out from beneath an opponent can be a deadly surprise!

• Estimate the amount of time an enemy remains frozen, and cast another Storm Gust before they thaw. If they do not swap armors, they will be left with insufficient time to heal.

IV. Research Resources

Obviously it takes more than just knowledge of your skills and well-placed clicks to do well as a High Wizard. A good portion of skill goes into constantly updating and tweaking your stats and equipment. Though this can be a daunting task at first, through using a few different calculators and databases you’ll find it’s not very hard at all. Here, I’ll list a couple of the resources I use most often.

• RateMyServer is a great choice, obviously. They’ve got a Renewal Search, as well as a Pre-Renewal for both monsters and items. You can also see the script for each item, making it possible to see if an item isn’t functioning correctly. I’m also absolutely in love with their search form. You can narrow down your search results with options like “Items that affect DEX”.
• IROwiki isn’t a bad place to go either. If it exists in the realm of RO, you can find it.
• IROwiki Character Simulator – This is used to simulate the gear on your character, buffs, etc. to see your stats were you to use the selected items. I believe this is the most updated version.

SECTION 2: The Pursuit of Knowledge

Now that we’ve made it through the basics, we can begin going in-depth on the math that goes behind a High Wizard. Here you will discover a few types of builds, what they’re like, and opening the potential to explore and improve your builds. We’ll also explore the items involved in getting your WoE/BG supplies, and some my recommendations/comments on commonly used equipment.

The first question this section seeks to answer is, “What am I attempting to do as a Wizard?”

II. Build Overview

So, we know what stats contribute to spells, how the spells are used, and by now, you’ve probably got an idea on what kind of wizard you want to make. This is where the fun really starts, and you being working on a build that is comfortable and productive. Let’s take a look at how each stat can be thought of for your character.

STRENGTH

Strength on a wizard isn’t particularly useful, since it’s only contribution is an increased weight limit. Use it for that, and that alone. Works as a decent dump stat.

AGILITY

Agility doesn’t have any real use to a High Wizard.

VITALITY

INTELLIGENCE

DEXTERITY

LUCK

This is just a short introductory guide to playing the Assassin Cross class in RO. Leave me comments if this guide’s been helpful to you, if i get good ratings and good feedback, i’ll make a full guide w/ video demonstrations of the tricks i use (Frost Lock, 9 Hit SB, etc. etc.). Enjoy..

Vit Type SinX:

Well, for vit types — like me — who prefer to go with 1 on 1 matches and hard VIT can pretty much tank any job with the right gear switches. Going over the stats, i think it should be ,

Str: 140-150

Agi: 1

Vit:  100-110

Int: 1

Dex: What’s left of your stat points go here. If you’re playing in a farming server and you can’t quite get platinum skills for the SinX class, you’ll have to put less vit and get higher dex.

Luk: 1

Equipment:

Going over the equipment, the image tells you the equipment. That’s from a previous semi-low rate server w/out Gods and Godly cards (Thanatos, etc. etc.).

The rest of the switches for me are, another Proxy Skin Fragment with a Giant Whisper Card and another with deviling, a Diabolus Armor with Tao Gunka, a Valkyrja’s Armor with Ghostring and an Orleans Server with Maya Card ( Just in case you accidentally get hit 3 times by a wiz’s Storm Gust and forgot to switch to Unfrozen/Deadly armor. Of course it’s still a gamble whether they use Jupitel Thunder or play it safe and use Thunder Storm.  ). As for the weapons, the only 2 katars i user are, an  Infiltrator with Incantation Samurai Card and a Katar of Piercing Wind with 2 Hydras and 1 Phreeoni, then of course after casting Sonic Blow, i switch back to a Cranial Valkyrja’s Shield and a Combat Knife, and i pack any dagger with 4 slots and arm them with 4 Stormy Knight Cards.

Strategy:

Strategy should be more than obvious at this point. When you’re playing a 1 on 1 game against another SinX, the idea is to kill him with 1 hit of a Sonic Blow, which is VERY POSSIBLE by the way, even if he’s wearing a Combat Knife and Cranial Shield when you strike him. The idea is to SCAN his weak elemental resistance. The 5 core elements used MAINLY are, Wind, Earth, Fire, Poison and of course the Neutral element. Scanning isn’t hard or anything, seeing as to you have every element at your disposal ( Saying of course that the server you’re playing on provides them on NPC’s ) you can use a converter and hit him with normal attacks, to scan for poison, just hit him with an envenom. If it doesn’t miss, that’s a 85% possibility that he’s gonna die with 1 blow. Once you get the element that does the most damage to him, hit him with your damage katar ( Infiltrator w/ Incantation Samurai Card ) armed with that element. If you’re going against a flee type SinX, it should be obvious innit? The first thing to do is to wear your frost dagger ( Any Dagger w/ 4 Stormy Knight Cards ) and hit him with an envenom. If he freezes, he’s an idiot, if not, hit him away with your Hit Katar.  Hit him with your Hit Katar ( Katar of Piercing Wind w/ 2 Hydras and 1 Phreeoni Card ) armed with the element you want. Now, if by any chance you can’t kill that agi type SinX, that’s because he’s got upgraded equipment +10 and such or has high vit. Then, you’ll need another katar for that KOPW with 1 Hydra, 1 Inca, and 1 Phreeoni, or you could always change your stats to counter his ( Adding more dex ). For PVP, you basically try to freeze anyone you want to kill with Throw Venom Knife. If you can’t freeze em, hit away with a Sonic Blow armed with an element ( Try poison first :) ). Always remember that the switch sequence for PvPing is Frost Dagger -> Cranial V.Shield -> Combat Knife.

You can study the gear switches on your own i hope? :)

Tips and Tricks :

If you still can’t 1 hit him, i’ll give you a clue. Hit + SB + Switch ( To Cranial Shield and CK that is ).

If you can’t kill an LK or a Paladin even when you use the Sonic Blow Frost trick, you can do a frost lock on them ( Hitting tem without breaking the frozen status ). Same as above, Hit + SB + Switch ( To frost dagger that is, then Cranial Shield and CK).

Try to experiment with other builds, use elemental resistance potions to your advantage =)

Well, this is my first guide. I don’t like doing stuff like this. I only want to play and kick everyone’s asses  :)

Sorry for not having a guide for Agi Type’s, i really don’t play agi types because i love high HP’s and i like to use the SinX Class’ s superb ability to tank. Maybe next time :)

First lets see the Pros and Cons:

Pros :

*Chase  and cause status  on all enemies

*Doesn’t require expensive items in order to be usable

*A very good team player

*Accurate breaker & useful in defending teams in BG

Cons:

*Requires a lot of restorative supplies

Build: You will need Battleground  food in order to complete this accurately and reading your job bonus stats.

Stalker gets these bonus stats the only ones you need to pay attention to for FSK build

Agi + 11 at job 70, Vit +4 at job 63, DEX + 12 at job 66

Str: get around 30 – 40 max depends how much restorative items you are holding

Agi- 39 – 49  (steamed alligator +7 AGI) agi up + bg food=  50 if 39 or 60 with 49

Vit-  93 use ( Sumptuous feast) in order to make it 100 which is immune to all status but Sleep and stone and Frozen statuses

Dex- 81 and add it with Blessing stalker job bonus and Soul haunted bread (+7 DEX) and it adds up to 110

now for items

Headgear:  Feather Beret or Beret very good for taking hits and helpful since your a tanker.

Weapon: [4] Knife Marina card x4/ [4] Knife 2 magnolia & 2 metaller cards/ Combat knife

Body armor :  padded armor +7 with evil druid or expensive variant Glorious Suit

Shield : Valkyrie Shield + Thara frog card / carry a second to be immune to SC with Medusa card if you don’t have Evil druid.

Garment: Wool Scarf [1] + Raydric or Noxious card / G muffler/ Proxy skin fragment with Raydric card

Shoes: Tidal Shoes [1] + Matyr card/ Glorious shoes

Accessory: armor Charm for the padded armor set and tidal shoes set/ Horong card + Belt[1]/ Glorious Ring x2

Your job or (build) is to take as many hits possible and be immune to statuses to break barricades  stone guardians and the Emperium in battlegrounds.  Also to support teammates by status inflicting enemy’s invading to break your castle! this will be all sided into BG first.

Sinx – If they are the Killing type use Sprinkle sand to blind them, then use the curse, mute dagger and FSK into oblivion until there muted their Spirit buff will be dispelled.  Once that’s done close confine and strip the, but if there DEF types use sleep arrow and try to stop them! if they wear nightmare card try to bother them and close confine them till a teammate comes to help to kill them.

Stalker – In this  battle you have to make sure your NOT stripped or avoid them as possible, if they are the same type as you good chance they aren’t immune to Sleep status unless they’re wearing Nightmare card.  Try to strip them and close confine and use Stalking  so they cannot escape.

Creator – If they are non vit users with stun immunity cards use Stun arrow and the mute/curse dagger to paralyze them so they’re utterly useless to do anything unless they use green pot.  If there SPP type (high vit) use they have little INT to kill you with which means they are weak to sleep or use mute and Curse dagger as spam! don’t try this if you do not have FCP enabled or have items broken, be careful of the Damage dealing type if they do more then 60% try to hide dodge or fsk + sit trick to do spam on them till they get stunned or muted.

Paladin – No fcp strip shield  and armor or just Full strip and freeze them into place matyrs reckoning ones wont be able to kill you unless you don’t have potions.

Lord Knight – Same as above.

Sniper – Careful not to fall into a sleeper trap or ankle snared you do not have enough job points to get Remove trap so FSK them into place until they stun (if there killing type AKA DS) or put them  at rick of being killed.

Professor – If your soul linked and Plaster shield on or ED FSK put them to sleep and strip them.

If DEX isn’t high enough leave them asleep and ignore until team deals with them, they cannot dispell you at all.

Champion – The most difficult to deal with you need to be very reactive to dodge Asura. As soon as you see him about to asura (hide) and sometimes you will succeed but if he has ruwach and sight up stalking and move away until he can’t find you and try to FSK spam and put him into mute and curse and close confine then full strip him!

Wizard – They are minor threats just try not to be Stone cursed or Frozen, spam FSK with mute and Stun them until they cant use anymore skills when teammates come to kill them.

Now for PvP Arena

Stalker + Sinx – This team is very unusual but it works if played right! Stalker the one heavily relied on to deal with difficult enemies , Professors, enemy sinx, wizards and champions.  Try to status and put them all at risk of being hit by your partner blind the sinx and keep him dispelled of Soul link and status him to death till your buddy kills him.  Professor is a difficult one to defeat make sure to put him to sleep if hes (def) type and FSK as much as you can, try to avoid dispel and much as possible.  Champions will be the test of surprise and kill and status with hit locking.  The stalker must be the one annoying him and statuses him into oblivion just keep spamming FSK and try NOT to be hit by Asura yourself unless you think you can take it with no assumptio.

Stalker + Champion – My personal one i use all the time these two can wreak havoc if they’re properly geared and have good reaction and years of experience.  Stalker deals with professor the accursed enemy of the Champ class, if your soul linked the professor  just wants to Stone curse you or Web, just use hide and back slide to avoid them both and use ED card for stone curse and jsut put him into sleep or FSK to avoid so he cannot cast.  Enemy sinx will fail to kill champs if they are  mid demi resist geared and while FSK dispelles SL its a good bet that they will be powerless if they’re *defensive type* if not they are the other variant being full offense little to no VIT and high dex which means the stalker can mute and stun him until the champs destroys him. Pretty much Champ + stalker can hande anything if not ganged by more then 5 people.

Figuring Out the Average Cost of Getting a Risky Armor Refinement Level

For those who don’t want to figure out the math of figuring out the cost of upgrading to a certain refinement level (starting from refinement level 0), I decided to post it up for everyone’s benefit.

Refinement level : Average # of Items needed = Average # of Items needed : # of Elunium needed
+5 : 5/3 = 1.67 : 8.33
+6 : 25/6 = 4.17 : 23.33
+7 : 125/12 = 10.42 : 60.83
+8 : 625/12 = 52.08 : 309.17
+9 : 3,125/12 = 260.42 : 1,550.83
+10 : 15,625/6 = 2,064.17 : 15,518.33

Flip the fraction around and you have your chance of success upgrading from +4 to that level.

Here’s the formulas in simple terms:

Variables Defined:
Cost of Single Item = I
Cost of Single Elunium (including refining costs)= E

+5
Cost = 5/3[I + E(5)]

+6
Cost = 25/6[I + E(5.6)]

+7
Cost = 125/12[I + E(5.84)]

+8
Cost = 625/12[I + E(5.936)]

Example:
You know those +10 Tidal Boots you’ve always wanted? Well if Tidal Boots are 650,000 zeny and Elunium is 40,000 then the plug in is this:
Cost = 15,625/6[650,000 + 40,000(5.95904)]
so
Cost = 2,313,441,667 zeny
Ouch! Over 2 billion zeny for +10 Tidal Boots. Even if you hunt the boots and elunium yourself and break those instead, you’re still losing money when you break them since you could have sold the boots (opportunity costs).

And that’s pretty much it. On a side note, Level 4 weapons also follow the same formula without a Whitesmith. Since I’m too lazy to post up the formula of level 4 weapons for a job level 70 Whitesmith, I’ll just give the number of weapons needed for a +10 of different levels.

317.46 weapons are needed on average for a job level 70 Whitesmith to make a +10 level 4 weapon in comparison to 2,064.17 by yourself.
88.18 weapons for a +10 level 3 weapon in comparison to 416.67.
31.75 weapons for a +10 level 2 weapon in comparison to 104.17.
9.52 weapons for a +10 level 1 weapon in comparison to 20.83.
But don’t stick this into a Whitesmith’s face. They leveled up to that level so they deserve to charge a lot because of that reason so don’t bug them to make you a level 10 weapon when you have all the materials unless you’re willing to tip them GENEROUSLY for attempting (you should pay them even if the weapon fails to create). Remember that they could have probably made a nice sum of zeny in the time they took to help you out, not to mention the fact that they can refuse to make your weapon that normally sells for an insane price, which is a good reason to refuse to make your weapon and instead let you try by yourself the 1/2064 chance instead of the 1/317 chance with a Whitesmith.

Now for the for those that want an explanation behind how the formula works, get ready to have a 10 minute math class with Sketches:

+5 : 0.6 = 0.6 or 60%
+6 : 0.6 * 0.4 = 0.24 or 24%
+7 : 0.6 * 0.4 * 0.4 = 0.096 or 9.6%
+8 : 0.6 * 0.4 *0.4 *0.2 = 0.0192 or 1.92%
+9 : 0.6 * 0.4 *0.4 *0.2 *0.2 = 0.00384 or 0.384%
+10 : 0.6 *0.4 *0.4 *0.2 *0.2 *0.1 = 0.000384 or 0.0384%

Now the average number of armor needed to upgrade is found by 1 divided by the chance of refinement:
+5 : 1/0.6 = 1.667
+6 : 1/0.24 = 4.167
+7 : 1/0.096 = 10.417
+8 : 1/0.0192 = 52.083
+9 : 1/0.00384 = 260.417
+10 : 1/0.000384 = 2604.167

Now say the armor of choice was Silk Robes which you valued for 300k and Elunium for 40k (to make the problem simpler I’m including refining costs in the value of Elunium so let’s say you bought the Elunium for 38k each and the refining cost is 2k). For the amount you spend on the armor, it would be the refinement level’s average number of armor needed multiplied by 300k.
Example:
I wanted a +7 Silk Robe so 10.417 * 300,000 = 3,125,100 zeny
or if I wanted to be more exact:
1/0.096 * 300,000 = 3,125,000 zeny spent on Silk Robes.

Now the amount of zeny spent on Elunium is a bit more complicated. The easiest way to explain it would be to go one by one through the refinement list. The minimum number of Elunium required for +5 Silk Robes is 5. So the average cost of Elunium for +5 Silk Robes is the number of armor needed multiplied by the minimum number of Elunium needed which itself is multiplied by the cost of Elunium.
Example:
I wanted a +5 Silk Robe so 1.667 * (5 *40,000) = 333,400 zeny
I put it in parenthesis to make it more clear, but they are not needed here.
or if I wanted to be more exact:
1/0.6 * (5 * 40,000) = 333,333.33 zeny spent on Elunium

For +6 Silk Robes, we know that some of the Silk Robes broke going to +5 on average, so we have to take the number of the average of those that upgraded and multiply that by the number of armor needed for +6 Silk Robes. The number of the average of those that upgraded successfully is the same as the chance of upgrading to that level multiplied by the number of the armor needed for +6 Silk Robes.
Example:
I wanted a +6 Silk Robe so 1/0.24(5 * 40,000) + 1/0.24(0.6 * 40,000) = 933,333.33 zeny spent on Elunium

For +7 Silk Robes, following the same logic, we just have to know we’re taking the success of the success now.
I wanted a +7 Silk Robe so 1/0.096(5 * 40,000) + 1/0.096(0.6 * 40,000) + 1/0.096(0.24 * 40,000) = 2,433,333.33 zeny spent on Elunium

Notice how we can do some factoring and simplify these problems a bit more:
Average Cost of Elunium for +6 Silk Robe
1/0.24(5 * 40,000) + 1/0.24(0.6 * 40,000) = 933,333.33
can instead be
1/0.24[40,000(5+0.6)] = 933,333.33
which can instead be
1/0.24[40,000(5.6)] = 933,333.33

Average Cost of Elunium for +7 Silk Robe
1/0.096(5 * 40,000) + 1/0.096(0.6 * 40,000) + 1/0.096(0.24 * 40,000) = 2,433,333.33
can instead be
1/0.096[40,000(5+0.6+0.24)] = 2,433,333.33
which can instead be
1/0.096[40,000(5.84)] = 2,433,333.33

Which in this same way we can find the cost of +10 armor in Elunium. Now we can put the two equations together for +7 Silk Robe (the armor cost and the elunium cost).
If 1/0.096 * 300,000 is the armor cost and 1/0.096[40,000(5.84)] is the elunium cost:
1/0.096 * 300,000 + 1/0.096[40,000(5.84)] = 5,558,333.33
can instead be
1/0.096[300,000 + 40,000(5.84)]
which is
Average number of armor needed * [value of armor + value of Elunium*(magical number explained in above paragraphs)]

I hope this explains the formulas I provided.

On a side note, this cost formula is why I found my guild mate selling five +7 chain mail[1] for 2,000,000 crazy on his part and good for the buyer. Let’s figure out the cost of making a +7 chain mail[1]. If we value chain mail[1] at 150k and Elunium at 35k, then:
Cost = 125/12[I + E(5.84)]
Cost = 125/12[150,000 + 35,000(5.84)]
Cost = 3,691,666.67 zeny in cost of making.
So yes, he’s selling at a loss.
But hold on one sec!
The elunium itself costs:
Cost of Elunium = 125/12[35,000(5.84)]
Cost of Elunium = 2,129,166.67 zeny
Yes this means the Eluniums it took to upgrade to +7 were more expensive than the price he offered the chain mail[1] for, so he was losing zeny.

Let’s say my guild mate decided to sell the chain mail to the npc and resold all the Elunium he bought for 33k each.
Assuming he had average luck, he had 10.417 chain mail[1] so he made (32,500 * 10.417) 338553.5 zeny from the armor and (125/12[33,000(5.84)]) 2,007,500 zeny from elunium, so 2,346,052.5 zeny he could have gotten instead for one +7 chain mail instead of 2,000,000 zeny.

I sometimes see people selling things at a loss like this, so I’m just pointing this for the people that plan to sell upgraded equipment.

I may have made a typo as this was a lot of numbers to punch in, so please be kind when pointing it out. I hope this was somewhat useful to know. ;-)

Cast Time: As casted spell After Cast Delay: As casted spell

Item Required: 1 Yellow Gemstone

Effect: Casts a random skill (can be ANY player skill e.g. Auto Counter or Hide and some special skills) at your own skill level. May produce some odd and funny effects. Requires 1 Yellow Gemstones to use, and anything the produced skill would require e.g. Trap, Blue Gem, Red Gem or Paintbrush. The produced skill will change in a random pattern with each cast. Even with catalyst reducing items (Mistress Card) or buffs (Bard/Dancer Into the Abyss) the cost will not drop below 1 Yellow Gemstone; a For-Fun-Skill.

This is the official description of Abra. It also includes some other interesting effects. One of these is a skill that looks like this:

Preparation

The most effective way to Summon an MVP using Abra requires some support classes… meaning friends. All of you should be in a party together. It will reduce the cost of Abra if both dancer and bard are in the same party as the Profs.

Classes you need:

Prof or more to cast Abracadabra the more the better,

Creator to spawn mushrooms with Plant Cultivation to be transformed into the MVP and to Acid Demo the MVP,

Dancer and Bard for Into the Abyss Ensemble: All party members within the area of effect are able to cast spells without gemstones and lay traps without using an item; then vs. the MVP the Bard uses Poem of Bragi and the Dancer uses Please Don’t Forget Me and Service For You.

High Priest for Ruwach during the Abra stage and to Lex Aterna vs. the MVP,

Sniper with boss bow and/or Champ with boss chain just to kill the MVP,

High Wizard for Aoe spells and Ice wall,

Paladin in Gospel/Devotion build to keep people alive or tank low MVPs, and

Assassin Cross or Stalker to lure large MVPs.

Items you need

If you have a dancer bard playing Into the Abyss as I suggest, it will not cost any gems (I know what the skill says, but it’s not true unless the GMs fix it). Otherwise, you will need alot of Yellow Gems on the prof. I suggest that everyone involved pitches in for the expense of buying gems. Use a discount merchant to buy them. You will also want to have potions on everyone in addition to using the town healer. Green potions in case the MVP has a screen silence. You will also want to have fwings if a strong mvp is summoned and it is camping spawn point. Blue gems in abundance on the High Priests ready to res.

• White Potions, or Condensed White Potions, or Mastela Fruits
• Green Potions
• Fly wings
• Blue gems
• Yellow gems (if you don’t have Into the Abyss)

Getting Started

Before doing anything warn everyone in all allied guilds that you will be doing Abra. Once you tell the afk people in town, set up a nice big party with exp on Share and items on Take. If you have enough people make 2 parties. While the Abra summoners work on summoning have the rest of the party hang in pvp, or hunt gear. The wait on summoning an MVP can be long or short it truly is random.

Set up the ensemble song Into the Abyss. Once that is set the Profs can stand in the AoE and spam the Abra Skill. Just keep pressing the hot-key and watch the letters for the skill in Green.

While the Profs spam, the Creator should set up 2-3 mushrooms. When one of the Profs gets the “????” skill target a mushroom with it. It may change into an MVP if you’re lucky; if it doesn’t keep spamming.

Make sure that those who aren’t spamming stay patient. It’s kinda rude when there’s one or two people doing everything. *Hint if you get bored of waiting, make a Sage or Prof and help Summon too*

Killing the MVP

Once the MVP is summoned send a call out to everyone in your party and double check with allied guilds to see if anyone new wants to join. One trick is spider web + safetywall + tank/devotion + ice walls + town healer + lex aeterna + Abyss Knight carded weapons = almost any MVP dead, or you can make a Stargladiator with Feeling set in the town. First have the Sinx lure the MVP off screen south from the spawn point. Clown and Gypsy set up bragi and service for you while the High Priest buffs. Paladin Gospels then Devotions the essential classes (HP and damage dealer). High Wizard sets up Ice Wall to discourage the MVP from walking north. All classes prep for onslaught. Buy items and get specific gear for the MVP. Example: Fire Armor vs. Eddga, Holy Weapon vs Atroce, etc. Land Protector can help against some MVP AoE skills, but be sure to be careful where you cast it. LP blocks Gospel, Sanctuary, Safetywall, and Ice wall also.

If you don’t know what to use vs an MVP go to http://ratemyserver.net and look up its race/size/element. Then look up cards that affect each type. By alternating cards the bonuses stack completely. Ex: 4 Hydras is not as good as 3 Hydras and 1 Skeleton Worker.

Q: How do I make a guild?

A: You need an Emperium and then you type in /guild “Guild Name”

Q: How do I use a custom emblem for my guild?

A: This can be tricky if you don’t know what to do. First, the Emblem must be a 24 x 24 pixel image in the .bmp (bitmap) format. In the RO folder, make a folder named Emblem. Put the Emblem you want to use into the Emblem folder. In game open your guild information screen, click the edit button, and select the emblem you want to use. For help on how to create a cool looking emblem read this post at the RO Empire Forums.

Q: How do I delete a guild?

A: First, only the current guild master can break a guild. Expel everyone from guild and then type in /breakguild “Guild Name”

Q: How do I leave a guild?

A: Open the guild screen with Alt G. Find your name in the List of members, right click your name, choose the option to leave guild. It will ask you for a reason, it’s common courtesy to tell them why you are leaving.

Q: Where do I level (class here) at (number) level?

A: Read my leveling guide, I get tired of repeating myself.

Q: How do I get to (such and such) dungeon?

A: Read my Map Access Guide.

Q: What does ks mean?

A: KS is kill stealing. This is more than just rude, it’s illegal on many servers. Some servers have the command @noks

Q: What is a bot? Is botting allowed?

A: Lazy players set up programs to run their character to hunt or do other tasks. Botting is illegal on most servers.

Q: Heal, Zeni, Items please?

A: No, get it yourself everyone else has to do it. Here’s a link to my Money Making Guide.

Q: I shared my equips with this random person and now I can’t find him, what do I do?

A: Don’t fall for scams. Don’t share stuff with people. If you do share with others you can try to screenshot the deal and chat, but it’s all up to the GMs of your server. Report the person, and if you don’t have a screenshot then you’re screwed.

Q: How do I auto-follow?

A: The character you wish to auto-follow with must have /nc turned off. If you turn it off you will have to start auto-follow twice. Hold shift and right click the person you wish to auto-follow, a small triangle will appear over their head and you will follow them. Remember if it doesn’t work: turn off /nc and click twice to autofollow.

Q: How do I stop lagging so much?

A: There are a few ways to reduce lag. Use the command /effect to turn on and off your effects. Use the command /aura to simplify auras. If these don’t work you can go into the RO Folder > Setup.exe. The Setup has options for sprite detail and texture. Turning these down will help reduce lag, but make the characters blotchy and ugly.

Q: The ground went white, can I fix it without relogging?

A: Yes, use the command /lightmap to fix it.

Q: What do these mean: B>, S>, T>, A>, N>, R>, AFK

A: Buy, Sell, Trade, Auction, Need, Recruiting, Away From Keyboard

Q: How do I create (such and such item)?

A: There is a specific skill you need based on class and specific items to use as ingredients. Follow the instructions in the RMS Creation Database.

Most Common Terms:

NPC: Non Player Characters, they open a pop up dialog box when you click on them with pre-set responses or set items they sell. You can also sell items to an NPC to make money. There are useless filler NPCs with no purpose, Quest NPCs which will open a dungeon or give you a needed item, Vending NPCs which buy and sell goods, informative NPCs, and basic game mechanic NPCs. The basic game mechanic NPCs are Healer, Town Warper, Dungeon Warper, Stylist, Class Change, Resetter, Platinum Skill NPC, etc.

Town Map: Maps that have Kafra and many other NPCs and no aggressive monsters. (Do I really have to define a town?)

Field Map: The World Map shows Field Maps only. To access a Dungeon, you must first travel through the correct field map in most cases (there are some short-cuts but it costs zeni).

Dungeon Map: This does not appear on the World Map. The entrances are accessed via Field Maps. Though usually “underground,” this is not always the case.

Drops: Items that the monsters “drop”. If your server does not have @autoloot 100 automatically set, the monster will drop your items on the ground. If you want to change the percentage of dropped items you keep to 50%, type the command @autoloot 50. I suggest keeping all your drops and then sell everything, except for: Equipment, Healing Items, and Cards.

Equipment: An item that can be worn by your character, found in the second tab of your inventory Alt E. Alt Q will bring up your “gear” or “equip” screen. Gear can be obtained by killing the right monster or buying from another Player or NPC.

Healing Items: An item in the first tab of inventory that can be consumed to heal hit points or spell points. Certain special “consumables” can increase a stat or give a skill your class might not have. For example, Authoritative Badges provide the Priest buff Increase Agility.

Card: An item in the third tab of inventory. It can be put on to a specific kind of equipment to enhance your skills, stats, or provide an additional bonus.

Epic Fail, Phail, FTL: For the Loss. Basically, “You suck” in internet lingo.

FTW: For the Win! Basically, “You rule” in internet lingo.

Powned, pwn3d, pwnd, pwnt: I believe this was derived from power and owned, it means, “You just got your butt kicked.”

Noob: A new player that many experienced gamers look down on. They will often make many mistakes at crucial moments and fail to listen to organized commands.

Pro: Power gamers who play their game with almost religious faith and on a daily basis. They will usually – but not always – have little to no real life social skills.

IRL, irl: In Real Life

Emp: The Emperium of the Castle must be defended or the castle will be taken by an enemy guild. It has only one real location in game despite that it takes up four spaces. Only cast safety wall on the top right space of the Emp. Sanctuary and Slim Potion Pitcher will heal the Emp.

Emp Room: The inner most room of the castle which contains the Emp. Usually the bulk of the defense is set up in this room.

Spawn Point: The spot next to a portal on the map where your character appears. You can abuse the spawn point if you know how.

Precast: The ledge or area furthest from the Spawn Point from which High Wizards and Creators can “cast” on enemies. The idea is to kill them as soon as they enter the room, on the spawn point.

AoE: Area of Effect, a skill that hits more than one square or target.

WoE: War of Emperium. A battle to hold a castle against enemies to obtain the treasures in the treasure room.

A) Taking a closer look at “Grim”

Grimtooth has a lot of unique features, especially for the Assassin class. On lv 5 Grim deals 200% Atk at 6 cells range, with a 3×3 splash effect. It is the only non-poison skill a Sin can deal splash damage with, until rebirth. Most important, besides the splash damage, is the fact that you have to hide to use it. While hidden, the enemies will not see you or attack you. Grimtooth carries your weapon’s element and any status of status arrows you equipped, once you finished the “Throw Venom Knife” quest. This means we can stun, curse or blind the mob we are attacking.

B) Stats/Skills

This is an easy part for Grimtoothers. Put Str, Agi and Dex, leave the rest at 1 (some people might want to add a little bit of Int, but if your server provides SP healing items, you won’t need it).

Enough Dex to hit: A total of 60-70 will be enough.

Enough Agi foor ASPD: An ASPD of 176-178 will b

e enough.

Enough Str to kill: All the remaining points should go here… Try to reach at least 100.

The Skills is even easier. Put 10 Skill points into hiding as a Thief, then as Assassin, get Grim to 5 as soon as possible.

C) How to mob and kill

Mobbing is a thing one needs a lot of practice for. Basically you run from aggressive monsters fast enough so they can’t hit you, but not too fast, so they still follow you. That way you gather a mob of monsters. Then you hide and use grimtooth to kill them. In images:

D) Tipps and Tricks

1. Use two Fortune Swords. They add a total of 41 lucky dodge to your flee. Lucky dodge is great, because it is not reduced by the number of enemies attacking you. Wear them while you gather the monsters and switch to the katar you use to kill when you’re hidden. The feature /q2 makes the Hotkeys F7 and F8 available on the mouse wheel down and up respectively. Putting the Katar on one and the Fortune swords on the other makes switching a matter of less than a second.
2. Stand a tiny bit before hiding. When you stand still for an instant before you hide, the monsters will be aggroed on the cell you hid on and come together right next to it. That way you’ll hit all the monsters with every grimtooth.
3. Get a Smokie, if your server has pet skills. A Smokie with its equip will allow you to hide from demons and insects, opening up a great range of new spots to go!

E) Equips

Important Equips are:

• A set of Elemental Katars (fire, earth, wind and water)
• Two Fortune Swords
• Fitting Jurs depending on the spot you level at

This being a short list shows, that the grimtooth assassin is not very gear dependant. Of course there are higher-level gears that will help a lot:

• Immune Garment
• Matyr Shoes (or other shoes that increase your hp)
• Evil Druid Armor / Bathory Armor

The last armors are required for soloing Nameless.

Disclaimer: My friend Cuddles made this guide last year. He has since stopped playing. All credit goes to him for writing the guide. I just added bedazzling pics and color to it.

Stats:

First off, Let’s go over the build.

Str -> 99

Gear:

Now let’s go over the equips, Now I will break it down into two groups…Low cost, and High cost.(I will go over why you should use them.)

Low Cost:
Upper Headgear: Magni’s Cap

Middle Headgear: Angel or Evil ears.

Lower Headgear: Doesn’t matter.

Body: Odin’s blessing With a Pasana card in it.

Weapon: Book[3] with 2 peco egg card’s and 1 Vadon card.

Shield: Stone buckler with a Penomena Card.

Garment: Muffler with a Jakk card.

Shoes: Shoe[1] with a Firelock soldier card.

Accessories: Either, two ring[1] with a mantis in each or two glove[1] with a zerom in each.

Now, Why do I use these equips you ask? Well you don’t have to these are just some things that may help you feel free to wear as you please!! But I will explain why these item’s will help you.

For starter’s you may ask why am I using Magni’s cap, Odin’s blessing, and Stone buckler. Well this is because by wearing all three you get the pretty good combo that they offer which is…STR + 2, DEF + 5, MDEF + 5…Which comes in handy.

Angel and evil ears, Mainly are used for the STR + 1.

Now, let me tell you about the cards I tell you to use, First off please note that Kasa is Formless and also considered a boss type monster.

Pasana card: Enchant Armors with the Fire Property,DEF + 1.
Peco egg card: Increase damage of attacks inflicted on Formless monster by 20%.
Vadon card: Increase damage inflicted upon Fire Property enemies by 20%.
Penomena: Receive 30% less damage from Formless monster.
Jakk card: Increase resistance to the Fire Property by 30%,Flee Rate + 5.
Firelock soldier card: STR + 2,[Refine Rate 9~10]Maximum HP and SP + 10%.
Mantis card: STR + 3
Zerom card: DEX + 3

Now you have to choose if you’d rather have two ring[1] or two glove[1].
Ring[1] gives you a nice str bonus.
Glove[1] gives you a nice dex bonus.
You can even use one of each if you want.

High Cost:
Upper Headgear: Magni’s Cap

Middle Headgear: Angel or Evil ears.

Lower: Doesn’t matter.

Headgear Cards: Lieb Olmai Card and Stalactic Golem Card are two good headgear cards for Thors Dungeon.

Body: Odin’s Blessing or Glittering Jacket with a Pasana card in it.

Weapon: Book of billows[3] with 3 Abyssmal knight cards.

Shield: Stone bucker with a Penomena Card (only because you can’t flying kick with a Valk shield.)

Garmet: Muffler [1] or Manteau [1] with a Jakk card.

Shoes:  Shoes [1] or Boots [1] with +9 or +10 and a Firelock Soldier Card.

Accessories: Either, two ring[1] with a mantis in each or two glove[1] with a zerom in each.

Again as I said above, feel free to wear as you please this is just base stuff.

Well first of all the viking or golden flower is good for the +4 to all stats bonus but I guess if you’re a VIT junkie you can go with a Bhaal Helm (Donation Item).

For the ears and such I like equality because you get +2 for all your stats which is nice but if you like Vit you can use redbull, if you want more str you can use fatallity.

For card info please look at the low cost section. Now I know alot of you are say wtf why would I use abyssmal knight cards??? Well that’s simple, Because Kasa is also considered a boss type monster.

Skills:
Now this concludes the Equip section let’s move on to Skills.
First of all lets get to know the main skills we will be using:

Feeling of the Sun, Moon and Stars: (Skill ID# 427)
Type: Active     Max Level: 3
Required For: Warmth of the Sun (L1), Warmth of the Moon (L2), Warmth of the Stars (L3), Comfort of the Sun (L1), Comfort of the Moon (L2), Comfort of the Stars (L3), Blessing of the Sun (L1), Blessing of the Moon (L2), Blessing of the Stars (L3).
SP Cost: 100
Target: Self
Cast Time: 1 sec

Effect: Permanently memorize a map. Can select the same map for the 3 Feelings if desired. After ‘memorizing’ a place, when you use this again, it will display you the memorized location. Do note, that you can use this only ONCE. Yes, only ONCE. You cannot assign a new place to memorize by using this skill again. When you use it, the game will ask you if you are sure about memorizing that place.
Level Description
1                        memorize as “Place of the Sun”

Warmth of the Stars (Skill ID# 430)
Type: Active     Max Level: 3
Requirements: Feeling of the Sun, Moon and Stars Level 3
SP Cost: 10 + see below
Target: Self     Range: 3×3 cells
Attack Type: [Splash Damage, 1 cells]
Cast Time: Instant
Duration: 10 sec, 20 sec 60 sec or until SP run out
Knockback: 2 cells (Except during Guild War Siege)

Effect: You can use this skill anytime in a map designated as “Place of the Stars” (in other maps the skill don’t trigger and the SP is not spent). When this skill is used, it creates an offensive barrier around you, affecting 3×3 cells centered on you. It deals 100% damage to monsters right next to you, and push them back by 2 cells. Enemy players receive SP damage instead of HP, and no push back. Every time the barrier hits, it takes away 2 SP. If you do not have enough SP, the barrier will disappear without making damage.

Hatred of the Sun, Moon, and Stars: (Skill ID# 434)     
Type: Active     Max Level: 3
Required For: Anger of the Sun (L1), Anger of the Moon (L2), Anger of the Stars (L3), Blessing of the Sun (L1), Blessing of the Moon (L2), Blessing of the Stars (L3).
SP Cost: 100
Target: Enemy     Range: 10 cells
Cast Time: 1 sec
Duration: Forever

Effect: Can be casted only once per Target. When you use this skill, the name of the monster whom you just marked will be displayed and marked. You can also use this on player characters, and they will be categorized by class, ignoring size and HP. Example: It will show above the player characters, Champion, if target player was a Champion character, and on all other characters who are of Champion class.
Level        Description
1                Mark as Target of the Sun. On mobs, it can only be used on Small monsters.

2                Mark as Target of the Moon. On mobs, it can only be used on Medium size monsters that have a  Maximum HP higher than 6,000.
3                Mark as Target of the Stars. On mobs, it can only be used on Large size monsters that have a Maximum HP higher than 20,000.

Anger of the Stars (Skill ID# 437)
Type: Passive     Max Level: 3
Requirements: Hatred of the Sun, Moon, and Stars Level 3

Effect: Grants a bonus of +((BaseLV+LUK+DEX)/(13-3*SkillLV))% ATK against Target of the Stars mobs.
Level Description
1            +((BaseLV+LUK+DEX)/9)% ATK
2            +((BaseLV+LUK+DEX)/6)% ATK
3            +((BaseLV+LUK+DEX)/3)% ATK

Comfort of the Stars (Skill ID# 433)     
Type: Active     Max Level: 4
Requirements: Feeling of the Sun, Moon and Stars Level 3
SP Cost: 80 – SkillLV*10
Target: Self
Cast Time: Instant
Duration: 80*SkillLV sec

Effect: It can be used anytime when you are in the Day of the Stars in the map that is memorized as “Place of the Stars” (in other days or maps the skill don’t trigger and the SP is not spent). This skill increases your ASPD by (LV+DEX+LUK)/10 %.

Blessing of the Stars (Skill ID# 440)
Type: Passive     Max Level: 5

Effect: Increases EXP given by Target of the Stars (monsters only) in the Day of the Stars by 20*SkillLV%.

Union of the Sun, Moon and Stars (Skill ID# 444) 
Type: Active     Max Level: 1
Requirements: Knowledge of the Sun, Moon and Stars Level 9
SP Cost: 100
Target: Self
Cast Time: Instant     After Cast Delay: 0.5 sec
Duration: 600 sec

Effect: The power of this skill is unleashed when linked by a Soul Linker using the Star Gladiator Spirit (if not linked, the SP is wasted and nothing happens). When linked, your movement speed is increased and all your attacks never miss and ignore DEF, but you loose 2% of your HP every time you attack a monster and 8% HP every time you attack a player, also if you attack a player when you only have 20% HP left, you will be killed instantly afterwards.

Break Fall (Skill ID# 420)
Type: Active     Max Level: 1
Requirements: Flying Side Kick Level 7
SP Cost: 1
Target: Enemy     Range: 4 cells
Cast Time: Instant
Duration: Until turned off

Effect: This is a skill you can turn ON and OFF by pressing the skill button. When you leave this ON, there’s 20% chance of dodging an enemy ranged Physical or Magic attacks. It is not removed after death.

Flying Side Kick (Skill ID# 421)
Type: Offensive     Max Level: 7
Required For: Break Fall (L7).
SP Cost: 80 – SkillLV*10
Target: Enemy     Range: 9 cells
Cast Time: Instant
Required State: Requires to be able to move

Effect: Attack an enemy who is away from you by jumping at him/her/it, landing in the same cell than your target. Normally, you would have to target this skill manually to attack, but if you use it while doing Break Fall, you will automatically attack the dodged target. The damage of this skill is 30%+10*SkillLV%, but if used right after Break Fall, it becomes stronger as your BaseLV goes up. Also, this skill has a unique property, when you hit the target player, any TaeKwon/Star Gladiator/Soul Linker-based buffs – such as all Spirit buffs, new skills bestowed by Spirit buffs, or Berserk Potion acquired through Berserk Pitcher – they may have, are all dispelled. However, if the target player has Preserve skill used on them, then they are invulnerable to this dispel effect. This skill can be Plagiarized by a Rogue. When this skill is used while using Running skill, the power of this ability will increase based on the character BaseLV. The power of this skill goes up even further if you do it while under “spurt” mode in Running skill.

Effect: This skill changes your attack element according to used skill level. When the weapon is removed or changed, the enchant remains for all except the Holy element.

Ok, Please note: That is not every skill a SG has, but those are the ones you will be using for Thor. Note: you do not need to use the Warmth of the Stars you can use any of them, Stars is just the one with most damage.

Class Mechanics

Now, you need to enter the Thor dungeon map… and use Feeling level 3. Once it is set, find a Kasa and use Hatred level 3 on it (this only has to be done once). If you can’t cast it in time, get someone to help you tank it while you cast. Next if it is a day of the stars, you can use Comfort of the Stars which just increases your aspd making you able to kill the Kasa faster. Now you’re almost ready to start killing, make sure you cast Level 3 warm wind when you enter thor to endow your weapon with cold. Warp (teleport) around until you find a Kasa. Once you find one you have 2 choices: you can either use Warmth and then Flying Side Kick at the Kasa, or you can do it in reverse which is Flying Side Kick then Warmth once you’re on the Kasa. About the break fall skill: it is just a skill that you cast once and it is on forever but you can turn it off by casting it again. It’s good for when you encounter a sword guardian and accidentally move so he can sense you and he goes to spear boomerang you. Instead of dying, break fall has a chance of activating which will make you dodge so that you have time to warp away. Trust me, it has saved my life several times.

**Note** This guide is for Thor SG’s who use Warmth of the stars, But it’s practically the same thing the only thing that varies are the skills.

Shiro’s Notes: Teleport away from sword masters, bow masters, and byorgue. Imps can be a pain to deal with, just fwing away or use Running to elude them.

You need to be soul-linked to use Union. I suggest making your own Linker on a second account. Once linked use Union once. It lasts 5 minutes, even if you die. No Union = Standing. Union = Floating. Using Union will double your damage, I highly suggest it.

I also highly suggest making a high priest or offering to leech one. Assumptio will make you live much longer, but Kyrie Elison will not reduce enough damage.

Ad for Limitless

The first thing you should do on any server is make 3 characters:

Hunting character – Hunter or Assassin (Sin is great because they get the skill Steal.)

Money character – Merchant (get the skills Vending, Overcharge, and Discount.)

Slave character – Priest (if you can run multiple clients at once, make sure to make this on a separate account.)

Use the hunting character to get the gear you need and hunt valuable items. Use the slave to buff the hunting character. Use the Merchant to overcharge all your drops, to buy potions at a discount, and to vend Cards.

The Following is a listing of ways to make money in RO. There are many ways, these are just 5 ways off the top of my head. They are listed from easiest to hardest.

1) Smokie Drops

Smokies drop: (based on a 1x server rate)

	Potato (8%)		Zircon (0.02%)		Raccoon Doll (0.02%)		Zargon (0.05%)		Animal Skin (55%)
	Raccoon Leaf (55%)		Kitty Band (0.01%)		Smokie Card (0.01%)

This is for low level money making. Use Fire element against Smokies. Keep the Kitty Bands and Smokie Cards, and Overcharge the rest of the drops with your Merchant. Kitty Band is used to make Bunny Band and Black Cat Ears. It can sell for a lot of zeni when vended. Smokie Card gives the skill Hide and can also sell for a lot when vended. Check the market before vending anything.

2) Witherless Roses

Witherless Roses drop at a fair rate. It takes some patience, but each rose is worth alot of money.

Wild Rose drops Witherless Roses at 0.5% on a 1x server. Use Earth arrows vs. Wild Rose. Sell the roses with Overcharge on your merchant.

Mavka drops Witherless Rose at 3% rate on a 1x server (only if your server has Moscovia Dungeon). Use Fire arrows vs. Mavka. Sell the roses with Overcharge on your merchant.

3) Juperos Drops

Venatu drop: (based on a 1x server rate)

Use Overcharge and sell all drops. Venatu cards are practically worthless, so you might as well sell those. The most efficient way to hunt them is to use an Assassin with Grimtooth. Gather a mob and then hide and Grimtooth away, make sure to have high flee and high strength.

4) Royal Jellies

Royal Jelly drops at a high rate. You can use Steal to increase the drop rates of the 100% drops.

Gonryun Dungeon is a great place to hunt Royal Jelly and the other drops there are worth good money also.

Hunt Enchanted Peach Trees, and Bloody Butterflies and then sell all the drops with overcharge on your merchant.

5) Leeching

To leech others, you will need to make a Stargladiator devoted to leeching characters at Thors. Stargladiators are great for PvM. See the Cuddly Stargladiator Guide to Thors (once it has been published) for the build, gear, and mechanics of leeching. Use your hunting character to get the appropriate gear, and then level your Stargladiator with the Leveling Guide (treat a Starglad like a Merchant or Swordsman for leveling purposes).
